I’m not a collector of quotes really. I either remember them and they fulfill their task in a certain time frame or simply let go of quotes.
There are those rare books, however, I could re-read many times, as I realize every reading is lively, different and liberating. The key word is Liberation from the chains of programmed thinking.
Always, always, always return within and never seek outside.
The Third Commandment of Ava Torot: Cleanse Yourself!
No one is able to cleanse themselves by means of rules and methods. Cleanse yourself through a Great Longing for God. If you want to stain yourself, then live for the sake of the world. Yet if you want to cleanse yourself, then you need not just longing, my friend, but a Great Longing for God. Only such Great Longing is able to throw away the world – the non-existing. The world and the worlds, whichever they are, do not exist, my friend. In vain have you directed your glance towards them. There exists only God. Cleanse yourself through the Great Longing for God!
The quote is from “AVA TOROT – The Secret Wisdom of All Concealed Things by Eleazar Harash”.
